John has unique and innovative perspective on organizational development for non-profit economic development organizations. He has helped organizations and communities see the big picture while still focusing on the short term. He is action-oriented focused on Business Expansion and Retention (expansion before retention), entrepreneurship, and Business Attraction activities.

John Holden is passionate about helping organizations and communities achieve their goals, especially in the areas of business expansion, business retention, entrepreneurship, and business attraction. He is well-versed in development practices, including expansions, financing, re-development, market analyses, and more.
Currently, as the President of the Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council, John leads strategy development for the twin cities, wholly focused on collaboration and coordination. Aside from the LAEGC, John also serves on the boards for the Auburn Lewiston Airport, Museum LA, and Acadia Capital Corporation.
With a rich and diverse background in a handful of different industries, John comes armed with a unique perspective. Past titles include Director of Community Development for the City of Rockland, ME, consultant with both Eaton Peabody Consulting Group and jphCED Consulting. He has also lent his expertise to the USDA’s Rural Development, the University of Maine, the Ohio State University Extension, and the Eastern Maine Development Corporation.
